Description
Square Washer:
Square washers are used under bolt heads or nuts to increase the bearing area or offer greater hardness. So that the nut or bolt can be rotated without distortion of the bearing surface. Square Washers also called construction square plate washers. Because it should be used instead of round washer for timber building and concrete floor applications. They are used with all fasteners for larger load distribution and bolting through a wall or timber.
Types of Square Washer:
- 316 stainless steel washers have excellent resistance to chemicals and saltwater.
- Black–oxide steel washers are mildly corrosion resistant in dry environments.
- Zinc–plated steel washers are corrosion resistant in wet environments.
- Galvanized steel washers are 10 times good as corrosion resistant as zinc-plated steel washers.
General:
Hence Square washers fit into slots and channels and have flat sides to keep them from rotating. They are wider and thicker than most round washers, making them good for distributing heavy loads.
Square washers, also called blind rivet washers, distribute loads when fastening bolts and screws in clamping and other fixing applications. Flat washers are used under bolt heads or nuts to increase the bearing area or offer greater hardness, so that the nut or bolt can be rotated without distortion of the bearing surface. Square washers have a square or rectangle shaped outside profile.
